A Florida lawyer who rails against drunk drivers in commercials and on his website was charged with driving under the influence on Sunday morning when he was pulled over for speeding in his Lamborghini through a 35 MPH zone.
David Maloney was arrested a little after 2 a.m. before reportedly being released about eight hours later, on $500 bond.

"I've said it before and I'll say it again," Maloney says in a commercial. "If you drink and you drive, and you hurt someone, don't call me. I'm not gonna represent you.

"If anything," he continues, "I'm going to be the one going after you."
Maloney also berates drunk drivers on his law firm's website.
"We aggressively pursue cases against irresponsible drunk drivers and the bars, restaurants and social hosts who serve alcohol to already intoxicated patrons or minors," the site says.
Maloney doesn't seem to have hurt anyone, so at least he won't be fielding calls to represent his victims.

  1. That is quite hypocritical of that attorney. But it's nice to see the justice system working the way it should. It's hard to pick a good attorney, especially when something like this happens, but one tip I have is to ask someone you trust for a referral.

  2. A whopping two out of every three people are involved in a drunk driving crash in their lifetime. But it's absolutely ridiculous when a lawyer is among these people. Isn't a lawyer a person who has supposedly attended law school and is supposed to be helping society and not adding to all the problems? What is the world coming to?

  3. This is a classic case of do as I say, not as I do. This man makes his living off of "going after" drunk drivers yet he ends up being on himself. Hypocritical much? Based on what his law firm states, I wonder if he is going to go after himself. Thank you for sharing this.
